"Hot Summer Day"

It was a hot summer day. The kind when you can barely lift your hand to draw the ice cold drink to your lips. I found myself stuck to the lawn chair in my backyard searching for, praying for a breeze. The air conditioner had given up 2 days ago and outside was negligibly cooler than inside. I alternated counting the beeds of sweat dripping down my arm with the beeds of water dripping down my ice tea glass.
Saturdays are lazy days for my husband and me, anyway, thank goodness, because if we'd been required to get anything done that day, it would have been brutal. He was opting for indoors over outdoors. We disagreed as to where it was cooler; I don't think such a place existed anywhere near our house.
Around 2 p.m. he emerged from the house, looking about as wasted as I was. He held 2 glasses of ice in his hands, no beverage, just ice. He came over to the lawn chair, and without speaking began massaging my hot body with ice cubes. This was one of the most amazing sensations. He continued to do this until all of the ice cubes were melted and not a stitch of clothing remained on my body.
My body, now mixed with sweat and cool wetness from the melted ice, was surging and wanting for his hot body to lay on top of mine. An hour ago you couldn't have paid me enough money to want another person laying on top of me, now I couldn't wait. He slowly undressed for me as I began to massage his body with the remaining glass of ice. We were drinking each other up as the memories of excrutiating heat melted away.
After satisfying each other we found ourselves laughing, naked on our lawn chair in our backyard. For how hot it was, it was amazing how long we were able to stand holding each other. When we finally regained our senses, realizing how hot it was to be laying there on top of each other, we decided to continue our adventure inside.
It was one HOT Summer Day in Wyoming that bears repeating over and over again.
